Overview

WalkPace is an interval walking timer app. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

Data We Collect

1. Health Data (Apple HealthKit)

With your explicit permission, WalkPace reads your daily step count from Apple HealthKit. This data is:

• Used solely to display your step count within the app
• Never sent to our servers or any third party
• Never used for advertising or marketing
• Processed entirely on your device

You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > WalkPace.

2. Account Data

WalkPace creates an anonymous account automatically so you can sync your data across devices. If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive only:

• A unique anonymous identifier (no real name or email unless you choose to share)

We do not require or collect your real name, phone number, or email address.

3. Walking Sessions & Settings

Your walking session history (duration, rounds, calories estimate) and app settings are stored:

• Locally on your device (primary storage)
• In the cloud via Supabase (encrypted, for cross-device sync)

This data is tied to your anonymous account and is not shared with third parties.

4. Crash Reports

We use Sentry to collect anonymous crash reports and performance data. These reports contain technical information (device model, OS version, stack traces) but no personally identifiable information.

5. Subscription Data

In-app purchases are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We do not have access to your payment details. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID to manage subscription status.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Location or GPS data
• Contacts, photos, or files
• Advertising identifiers
• Browsing history
• Any data for advertising or data brokering purposes

Third-Party Services

• Supabase — cloud database for data sync (privacy policy)
• Sentry — crash reporting (privacy policy)
• RevenueCat — subscription management (privacy policy)
• Apple — Sign in with Apple, HealthKit, App Store payments

Data Security

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using TLS. Database access is protected with row-level security (RLS), ensuring users can only access their own data.

Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Settings > Delete Account). Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed from our servers.

Children's Privacy

WalkPace is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
